Exploring Cyber Challenges in the Classroom

Within the Optus Cyber Security Experience there are a range of cyber challenges found in the “Field Trips” tab of the dashboard that are ready for use in the classroom. The challenges can be completed individually or in pairs, in the classroom or for homework.

  • Requirements: Device with internet connection, individual student registration with the Optus Cyber Security program – REGISTER HERE
  • Age: Suitable for Years 8-12
  • Time: 40 mins for all challenges (can be completed as individual tasks)
  • Answers: Hints are available in the program or a Teacher’s  Answers Guide is available on the Optus Cyber Security teacher dashboard.

The Cyber Victoria Schools Challenge (click here) was launched; Mount Waverley Secondary College became the first Cyber School and Matt Hall accepted the first Cyber Teacher certificate. Our Director of Education and Engagement, Renee Hoareau, went back to Mount Waverley Secondary College to speak with Matt and reflect on these markers.

Cyber Skills For Every Victorian Classroom

The Andrews Labor Government is preparing students across Victoria to be cyber ready through the state’s Victorian Cyber Schools Skills Challenge, which kicked off this month.

The challenge is the first of its kind in Australia and will connect students with some the country’s leading cyber professionals through an online platform where they will develop solutions to real-life cyber problems.
