LaTrobe University to Provide Every Student a Mentor

La Trobe University have joined the Day of STEM program as the Foundation University Partner, forging the way ahead for other Australian universities to become part of this national STEM initiative.

Professor John Dewar, Vice-Chancellor and President, La Trobe University said of the partnership, “We at La Trobe University recognise that for Australia to remain innovative and globally competitive, we need to develop and foster a Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) generation, so we are thrilled to be partnering with LifeJourney as the Foundation Australian University to develop our own university specific STEM mentoring platform.

The platform, which will roll out in 2016, will enable our current and future students to explore the wide range of STEM based careers. Students will have the opportunity to explore the skills they need to achieve their dream career, while directly plotting them against the industry-focused STEM curriculum offered at La Trobe. This platform will complement our world-class facilities and research, and further strengthens our commitment to providing students with the professional skills and attributes they require to thrive in the world of work, both locally and internationally.”
