LifeJourney is excited to announce a series of virtual Cyber Teacher workshops happening over the remainder of 2020. The workshops aim to build a foundational understanding of the field of cyber security, enabling teachers to effectively communicate to students about cyber security topics and facilitate student learning in the classroom.
In 2020 LifeJourney will work with partners across Australia to boost student and teacher awareness of careers in STEM and cyber security, including direct support to schools with workshops, incursions, Career Days and professional learning.
During the upcoming school holidays, South Australian secondary students will have the opportunity to learn about exciting careers in cyber security. During the workshop, students will explore the field, meet cyber security professionals and learn more about potential post-secondary pathways.
University of Queensland has partnered with LifeJourney and the Australian Signals Directorate to deliver two recent workshops for students focused on cyber security careers. The first workshop took place just before Christmas with a focus on young women, while the second was part of the National Youth Science Forum holiday program in January.
LifeJourney is partnering with the Digital Learning & Teaching Victoria (DLTV) to deliver a series of cyber security PD workshops in regional Victoria in 2020. The series kicks off in Term 1 with the first workshop in Ballarat on 16 March.
The Day of STEM is a national initiative, designed using the LifeJourney™ platform to raise the National IQ for STEM and Cyber Science. The program introduces and inspires all secondary and tertiary education students to pursue STEM careers and build the skills that will open up their future and connect them to the in-demand digital workforce.
