The 2020-21 South Sydney STEM Cup competition is LIVE! Students are now able to submit their South Sydney player lists via the Capologist worksheet (in the field trips tab) to have an opportunity to win fantastic prizes. The South Sydney STEM Cup is a dynamic national maths challenge based on the real-world career of Rabbitohs Football Club’s Capologist.
Students need to complete the worksheet to be eligible for individual prizes, choosing salaries they believe are closest to the actual salaries while staying under the NRL salary cap. Schools with the highest rate of student participation are eligible to win the school prize.
The 2020 NRL Salary Cap will be used for the competition. This was adjusted to $7.6 million AUD to account for COVID-19 related impacts on the season. The program can be facilitated by a teacher in the classroom, completed as homework or done by individual students outside of the school setting. Teachers can explore the Capologist lesson plan from within their LifeJourney instructor dashboard.
