The winners of the 2019 South Sydney STEM Cup were recognised during the Rabbitohs match vs the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium in mid-August. The student winners took out the top prize by balancing their South Sydney player list, determining player salaries for each team member while staying beneath the 2019 NRL Salary Cap.
Students from Clancy College, the 2019 School Winner along with the Top Student Capologists attended the celebration along with their parents and teachers. The students were treated to a behind-the-scenes experience before the game, suite tickets and a halftime chat and awards presentation featuring Peter Legg from South Sydney.
The top student winners received an autographed 2019 jersey, prize package and are eligible to complete a work experience stint with the Rabbitohs in Redfern. Plans are underway for the competition to take place again in 2020, while the online STEM career exploration program is available year-round to all students in Australia.
