Future Careers in STEM Series Coming to Northern Territory in October

The Northern Territory Department of Education and LifeJourney are organising a four-day series in Alice Springs and Darwin, October 16-19, to highlight the critical importance of future careers in STEM for students. The sessions will feature an exciting range of guest speakers from industry and education, along with hands-on workshops for students in drones, coding, robotics, engineering and cyber security.

SINET 61, a global series of cyber security conferences for industry leaders, featured its first student perspectives panel discussion during its Melbourne conference on 31 July at the Langham Hotel. The panel was comprised of students currently on a cyber security pathway from a range of institutions in Victoria and curated by LifeJourney.

LifeJourney is organising a free professional learning session for WA schools in partnership with John Curtin College of the Arts (JCCA) on 13 September in Fremantle. The event will introduce the tools and resources available for introducing cyber security careers and skills development in secondary schools along with discussions from employers and tertiary providers in WA talking about pathways into this exciting and rewarding field.

The ASD Cyber EXP is now available for Australian students to explore the career journeys of 5 cyber security professionals working at the Australian Signals Directorate. The program aims to build awareness around career pathways in cyber security through an interactive online experience that takes students inside a simulated cyber breach on a government department where students work with the ASD team of cyber professionals to respond to the incident.
