Virtual Work Experience with Wilderness School

Virtual Work Experience with Wilderness School

In September, LifeJourney supported the Wilderness School Virtual Work Experience week for the Year 10 cohort. As students were unable to participate in in-person work experience placements in 2020, Wilderness shifted activities to the virtual realm.

The session included an overview of the cyber security field in Australia, a compelling presentation on cyber safety and personal career perspectives from Corien Vermaak of Cisco systems Australian/New Zealand, and the students participating in the ASD CyberEXP program.

“The session run by LifeJourney was particularly exciting as we were able to learn about careers that we were previously unfamiliar with including cyber security and ethical hacking, making us all question our social media usage. Listening to the stories of Tim Edwards and Corien Vermaak career journeys was enlightening and exciting and encouraged us to consider a broader range of options.” Amolika Year 10 – Wilderness School
