LifeJourney is partnering with the Digital Learning & Teaching Victoria (DLTV) to deliver a series of cyber security PD workshops in regional Victoria in 2020. The series kicks off in Term 1 with the first workshop in Ballarat on 16 March.

Cyber security is arguably the fastest growing industry and most in-demand career field in Australia today with over 11,000 jobs being created in the next three years. Deakin School of IT and LifeJourney are hosting this information session and workshop to help secondary teachers and schools better understand the field of cyber security, the programs available to help inspire and prepare students and the post-secondary courses and degrees that can take them into the profession.

Day of STEM would like to thank our education and industry partners and participating schools for their support in making 2017 a great year. In 2017, Day of STEM:

  • increased the number of STEM mentors on the platform to 21 via 3 new programs including Women in STEM (click here), Optus Cyber Security Experience (click here) and the South Sydney STEM Cup (click here)
  • engaged with STEM teachers around Australia at education conferences and via professional learning webinars
  • promoted STEM career awareness through our free, online programs to thousands of Australian high-school and tertiary students (program overview here)

Cyber Victoria Schools Challenge

Cyber Victoria Schools Challenge

The Cyber Victoria Schools Challenge is available to all schools and tertiary institutions in Victoria. School participation for the 2018 challenge will close on May 14, 2018. School participation completed after May 14 will be eligible for the 2019 challenge round. Supported by the Victorian Government, the challenge aims to ignite student interest and awareness in cyber security careers through participating in the online Cyber Security Experience. Dandenong High School starts a Cyber Club

Dandenong High School starts a Cyber Club

Using the Optus Cyber Security Experience (click here) and Australia 2020 (click here), teachers from Dandenong High School have inspired their students to  build a Cyber Club. Students recently created their own drones to fly (a first for the school).
